Glazes From Nature: Our Exploration of Regional Minerals

In our Charlotte studio, we practice mindful resource management—reclaiming clay scraps, harvesting rainwater for specific processes, and utilizing solar power for a portion of our energy needs. Our packaging is plastic-free, utilizing recycled materials and compostable alternatives.

We create stoneware meant to last generations, not seasons—a quiet rebellion against disposable culture. When you bring a Timberline piece into your home, you're participating in a more thoughtful approach to consumption, one that values longevity, repair, and the subtle beauty that comes only with time.

Our latest collection features glazes developed from minerals collected within fifty miles of our studio. This months-long project reconnected us with the specific geology of our region while reducing our reliance on commercially processed materials. At Timberline Collection, our connection to nature extends beyond inspiration—it guides our practice. We believe crafting with intention means honoring the materials and environment that make our work possible.

Each piece begins with clay sourced from regional suppliers, minimizing transportation impact while supporting local economies. Our glazes are meticulously formulated to be food-safe and low-impact, with many incorporating natural mineral pigments that celebrate the earth's palette.
